At The Iberian we ship authentic Spanish delicacies across Europe and selected international destinations, carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition.

Processing time

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next business day. Whole Iberian hams (jamón ibérico) are prepared to order and may require an additional 3–7 business days of preparation before dispatch.

Shipping origin

Most orders are shipped from our fulfilment centre in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Whole Iberian hams are shipped directly from our partner supplier in Spain.

Carriers

We work with trusted European carriers such as PostNL, DHL and UPS. The carrier used for your order depends on the destination and the type of product.

Delivery times

Estimated delivery times once the order has been dispatched:

  • Netherlands: 2–3 business days
  • Rest of the European Union: 3–7 business days
  • Outside the European Union: 7–14 business days, depending on customs clearance

These timeframes are estimates provided by our carriers and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to weather, carrier operations or customs inspections.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the destination and the order value. We offer free shipping on qualifying orders within the Netherlands; the exact threshold is shown at checkout. Promotional free-shipping thresholds for other destinations may apply from time to time and will be shown at checkout when active.

Packaging

Our cured Iberian products (jamón, chorizo, lomo, salchichón and similar) are shelf-stable and travel in protective standard packaging, following the same best practices used throughout the traditional Spanish charcuterie trade. Other products are packaged appropriately to preserve their freshness during transit.

Order tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can follow the status of your delivery directly on the carrier's website.

Customs, duties and taxes (orders outside the EU)

Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, VAT and customs handling fees charged by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in the product price or shipping cost. We recommend checking your local customs regulations before placing an international order. If a package is refused at customs or returned due to unpaid duties, any associated costs may be deducted from the refund.

Undeliverable or refused shipments

If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect address, a failed delivery attempt or a refusal by the recipient, we will contact you to arrange a new shipment. Additional shipping costs may apply.

Damaged or lost parcels

If your order arrives damaged, or if the tracking indicates that the parcel has been lost in transit, please contact us within 7 days of the expected delivery date at contact@theiberian.store or +31 6 42503621 and we will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
